Carolina offers submitted major tools instruction materials and off-list supplemental instruction materials as supplemental adoption considerations. Note: As part of the adoption process, FDOE funding considerations for supplements are not to exceed 50 percent of your instruction materials funding allotment.

Major Tools Science Curriculum Adoption

For grades 6-8, Science Bits is a complete 5E instructional model supplemented with smart teaching tools.

Supplemental Science Curriculum Adoption Considerations

Building Blocks of Science® 3D is a grades K–5 hand-on, phenomena-based science program with 30-minute science kits designed for NGSS.

For grades K–5, Smithsonian Science for the Classroom™ offers 24 phenomena- and problem-based modules in kits, print, and digital.

Smithsonian Science and Technology Concepts™ Middle School (STCMS™) is a complete grades 6–8 program in three-dimensional learning and assessment.

The Carolina® Certified Versions of OpenSciEd® are middle school units that are easier to manage while maintaining the standards for high-quality instruction materials. Coming soon, OpenSciEd High School.

For grades 9–12, hands-on Carolina Kits® 3D investigations engage students in scientific and engineering practices while applying core ideas and crosscutting concepts.
