Sometimes school assignments can spark your imagination and creativity. That’s what happened with Shemar.
Shemar had an assignment to produce a product that could change the world. As he was brainstorming ideas, he wanted to listen to music, but his earbud cords were tangled. That’s when his idea came to him—he would create a product that makes earbud cords less awkward.
Using computer-aided design software and a 3-D printer, Shemar developed a cellphone case with a specially designed channel along its edge. This channel, or lip, allows headphones to be easily wrapped and secured while remaining tangle-free. He named the product Rap-It-Up and built a prototype with help at a makerspace lab.
Shemar hopes to one day see Rap-It-Up displayed on store shelves for sale.
