Sometimes stories heard on the news can inspire you. That’s what happened with Joaquin.
Joaquin heard a local news story about a baby who died after accidentally being left in a hot car. When he learned that this was not an isolated case and that children all over the world die or are injured after being forgotten in hot vehicles, he decided to take action.
Joaquin’s solution? He invented a car seat alarm system where a magnetic sensor is activated when the car seat buckle is closed. If a driver tries to lock the car while a child is still buckled in a car seat, the car’s alarm sounds, reminding the driver to check the backseat and potentially save a child’s life.
